Newark Heroes: He Does Homeless Outreach, ‘Always Lends A Hand’
When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now – here's one of them.
NEWARK, NJ — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.
Do YOU have a local hero you'd like us to know about? Share their story here or read about other heroes from across New Jersey here.

This submission comes from Terry Battles, who nominated Ronnie Hamilton of Newark.
- State: NJ
- Hometown: Newark
- Hero's job: Contractor
- Reason for recognition: Because he's a very special person that always lends a hand to help other people.
- One thing to know: He feeds and clothes the homeless, and is always doing toy drives/giveaways/back to school for the kids (bookbags, notebooks, pencils and pens).
