Newark Man Gets 15 Years for Robberies
Ware and Accomplice Targeted Pharmacies in Hudson County

A city man was sentenced to 15 years in prison today for his role in a series of armed robberies as well as a carjacking, the US Attorney’s Office announced.
Reginald Ware, 42, and another man, 32-year-old Rahoo Drew of Newark, robbed four Hudson County pharmacies at gunpoint, each time forcing everyone in the businesses to lie down on the floor and threatening to kill them if they failed to comply. Ware and Drew -- who was charged separately -- stole cash, drugs and jewelry from the pharmacies and individual victims.
The crimes all occurred in 2010.
The men robbed three pharmacies in Jersey City: the Wisdom Pharmacy on July 27; the Welcome Pharmacy on Aug. 4; and Carry Drugs on Oct. 16. A Union City pharmacy, Americas, was hit on Oct. 14.
Two days earlier, on Oct. 12, 2010, Ware carjacked a New York livery cab driver who had taken him to Jersey City. The vehicle was subsequently used in the October pharmacy robberies. The two were captured in November 2010.
Along with his prison term, Ware was sentenced to five years of supervised release and must pay $31,595 in restitution.
