Armed Wanted Man Surrenders After Brief Standoff, Police Say
Officers convinced 21-year-old to surrender in Wednesday afternoon standoff on Kent Street.

A city man wanted by police set off a brief standoff Wednesday afternoon after he allegedly barricaded himself inside his Kent Street home.
Police arrived shortly after 3 p.m. at the home of Khadeem Murchison, 21, who was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants. Murchison, who was armed with a sawed-off shotgun, refused to leave and tried to block officers from getting inside, department spokesman Sgt. Ron Glover said.
Officers and vehicles from the Emergency Response Team responded to the area, a neighborhood of side streets near Springfield and Morris avenues, and managed to convince Murchison to surrender peacefully, Glover said. Police also recovered Murchison’s double-barreled shotgun, Glover said.
