The Newark Public School district is ending classes Tuesday at 1 pm, a district spokesperson said.
School officials will also decide later today or tonight whether to suspend classes tomorrow.
A snowstorm that will be accompanied by below-average temperatures began around 8 am this morning, a few hours earlier than forecast. Up to a foot of snow is expected in the area.
