Newark Resident Dies In Turnpike Crash, Another Seriously Hurt: Police
The vehicle traveled into the right shoulder and collided with the rear passenger side of a parked semi-trailer, police said.
NEW JERSEY — A Newark resident died in a car crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in Burlington County earlier this week, and another was seriously injured, authorities say.
According to the New Jersey State Police, the crash took place Tuesday on the New Jersey Turnpike Pennsylvania Extension East in Mansfield.
A preliminary investigation shows that Oscar Lagoa Santos Jr., 25, was driving a Ford E-350 with Heliomar Dasilva, 45, in the front seat, when the vehicle traveled into the right shoulder and collided with the rear passenger side of a parked Freightliner semi-trailer, police said.

Santos was fatally injured, and Dasilva sustained serious injuries, authorities said.
A police investigation continues, authorities said Wednesday.
