Newark Road Work Prompts Commuting Delays Tuesday Morning: DOT

NEWARK, NJ - Unanticipated road work on Route 22 in Newark has prompted commuting delays in the area Tuesday morning, authorities said.

As of 5:20 a.m., there's construction and an unanticipated construction delay on Route 22 in both directions from east of North Broad Street in Hillside to west of CR 27/Frelinghuysen Avenue in Newark, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

1 right lane is closed, the agency said.
