NJ Hospitals Need to Be Ready for Ebola, Officials Say

New Jersey health officials have issued a warning regarding the ebola virus.

New Jersey health officials have issued a warning to healthcare providers to be on the watch for the ebola virus.

Newark International Airport, among other stateside locations, has been equipped with a quarantine station to identify travelers who may have the virus.

Two American patients who contracted the disease in West Africa have been evacuated to Atlanta. They are now being treated in isolation. The Peace Corps is also evacuating the region.

“New Jersey took the lead in setting up biohazard preparedness and as a result we have a fairly robust system of communication to regional providers,” Dr. Ron Nahass, of ID Care in Hillsborough, told mycentraljersey.com. A lot of infrastructure was put in place to provide proper isolation and prevention. We are quite well prepared.”
