NJ Student Brought Loaded Handgun To High School: Police
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, police said.
NEWARK, NJ - A high school student in North Jersey was arrested and charged Friday after bringing a loaded handgun to school, authorities said.
The male Weequahic High School student, whose name was not provided in statement, was taken into police custody following a report of a student with a loaded gun submitted to police around 1:45 p.m., according to Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, Fragé said.

The student is currently being detained by Newark Police Juvenile Services.
The incident remains under investigation, Fragé added.
