Officials Seek Public's Help in Finding Suspected Rapist
Knife-wielding assailant attacked women in their Newark homes last month

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Police Department are seeking assistance from the public in identifying a man believed to have been involved in two home invasions during which three women were sexually assaulted.
In February, the suspect entered two separate homes in Newark brandishing a knife. In the first incident he sexually assaulted two female occupants. A few days later he assaulted another woman.
Anyone with information relevant to the identification of the person depicted in the sketch attached to this article is urged to contact Lieutenant Aureilo of the Newark Police Special Victims Section at 973-733-7273 and /or Lieutenant Janine Straccamore of the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Bureau at 973-753-1123.
The Essex County Sheriff’s Crimestoppers program has agreed to offer up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and the conviction of this suspect. Information can be given anonymously.
