One Dead, One Seriously Wounded in Double-Shooting

A man was killed and a woman injured in a double-shooting Sunday night near Elizabeth and Clinton avenues, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and Newark police said.

The murdered victim is Naeem Williams, 28. The woman, 26, who was with Williams, was hospitalized in serious condition Monday. Both are Newark residents.

The shooting occurred around 7:30 pm. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene about a half-hour later.
