According to Salas:
"I believe Thyson should be honored not just for his works in the hard of hearing and deaf communities, but because of how much he has worked to expose the greater community to opportunities to work with and join in to advocate for those who are differently abled. He seems to work tirelessly in interpretation for city events and also as an employee in charge of programming at Newark Public Library. He displays courage in every room and is an integral part of our community in Newark. He also hosts sign language courses for free monthly."
"I don't personally know him, but I have single handedly been impacted along with so many others," Salas added. "He gives time to everyone he meets and he is LOVE."
Thank you for all you do, Thyson Halley!
