Police Investigating Child's Death

The Newark Police Department is conducting an investigation into the death of a five-year-old girl early Sunday morning, the department said in a statement.

EMS workers repsonded to 227 Bruce St. around 8 am on a report of a girl suffering seizures. She was rushed to University Hospital, where she was pronunced dead shortly afterward. A cause of death had not been determined as of Sunday night. 

Police did not immediately release the girl's name.
