Relay for Life Saturday Benefits Cancer Research

Annual fund-raising event will be held at Shabazz High.

The city of Newark and Municipal Council Member-at-Large Mildred Crump will partner with the American Cancer Society to host the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life” of Newark Saturday, June 8, from noon to midnight, at Malcolm X. Shabazz High School, 80 Johnson Ave. The relay will take place rain or shine.

Teams will raise funds to fight cancer by walking tracks and routes at the school non-stop, with members alternating in the walk, to ensure that it is continuous.
