Repair Work Finished at West Side High, More Projects Underway in Newark

State agency in the process of building or upgrading other schools in district.

A major repair project funded by the state Schools Development Authority has been completed this month at West Side High School, state officials said.

The project, which cost more than $50,000, was to refurbish electrical equipment at the nearly 90-year-old school. The work was performed by Grafas Painting Contractors of Millburn.

“The continued partnership between the SDA and Newark Public Schools has resulted in many significant improvements to a number of facilities that address the District’s most critical needs,” said Marc Larkins, the head of the SDA.  “In addition, SDA has advanced into construction three new school facilities in Newark.”
