Seminar Thursday will Teach Small Businesses How to get Government Contracts

North Ward Councilman Anibal Ramos is hosting a seminar today, Thursday, entitled “How to do Business with Government.” Also participating will be the purchasing departments of the City of Newark and the County of Essex.

This event will offer an opportunity for local businesses to obtain information and technical assistance that may result in increased contracting opportunities.  Local businesses are often unaware of the procurement process which exists with local governments and in some cases are intimidated by the public bidding process.  Through this seminar, participants can attain a better understanding of the procurement process that the City of Newark and the County of Essex follows and will receive information on notification process for public contracting opportunities.
 
The seminar will be held at 3 pm on the 14th floor of the Leroy Smith Public Safety Building, 60 Nelson Place (next to the Hall of Records).
