PHOTOS: Newark Puts on the Green Friday
City holds 78th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade
Spectators and marchers from throughout Essex County and the rest of the state headed to Newark Friday for the city's 78th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, two hours of pipe bands, marchers and dancers honoring the patron saint of Ireland.
The parade began by the Prudential Center, proceeded north on Mulberry Street, past NJPAC and onto Broad Street and then onto Central Avenue before ending at St. Patrick's Pro Cathedral on Washington Street.
