Campers will learn about the arts, take part in other activities

PCCI, an extended learning time youth organization located in Newark, has collaborated with the Newark School of the Arts, 89 Lincoln Park, to create a summer camp program for the youth of Newark.
Cost is $185 a week and parents have to pay for their child's first week and a $30 application fee up front. For every other week, parents can pay at any time during that week. Parents do not need to send their child for all six weeks. Parents can also seek payment aid from Programs for Parents and Community Coordinated Child Care (CCCC).

The camp provides swimming and special weekly trips. There are structured activity periods a week that engage campers in science, outdoor/indoor recreation, arts-and-crafts, and educational enrichment that focuses on literacy and mathematics. Campers will also enjoy various art classes four times a week. These classes are led by the Newark School of the Arts professional teaching artists and are age appropriate. By the end of the summer program, the campers will showcase their art and perform what they have learned and prepared in their arts classes.
