Super Bowl 'Media Day' and Sick Leave Law Up for Final Vote

What's going on in Newark Tuesday.

Plenty of Super Bowl-related action in Brick City Tuesday, not the least of which is Media Day at the Prudential Center. Tickets for the event were still available Monday. Click here for more info. 

Then there’s the tailgate party at the Newark Museum, which will feature a viewing of the Lombardi Trophy as well as a panel discussion being led by veteran NFL players. For tickets or more information, click here.  

It’s not all gridiron-themed action in Newark. Also Tuesday, the Newark Municipal Council is scheduled to vote on a law requiring Newark-based employers to offer sick time to their employees. The measure passed on first reading last year and is expected to be approved.

Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo will announce the release of community development block grants during a press conference in Newark. The grants -- federal funds set aside for local projects -- will be awarded to communities throughout the county.
