Ten Years for Man Who Ran Guns from Georgia to Newark
Robinson arrested at Penn Station carrying weapons, hollow-point bullets

A 41-year-old city man who was among dozens of suspects charged during an investigation into illegal arms trafficking across New Jersey was sentenced Monday to a decade in jail, state Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa announced.
Leo T. Robinson was arrested July 20, 2012 at Newark Penn Station, where he had just arrived from Georgia carrying three semi-automatic pistols -- including one that had been stolen and another with a defaced serial number -- nearly two dozen hollow point bullets and other ammunition. Robinson, who has 10 prior criminal convictions for assault and weapons offenses, admitted he planned on selling the weaponry in New Jersey.

Robinson must serve at least five years before becoming eligible for parole after pleading guilty to several weapons charges, including transporting weapons into the state for unlawful sale.
Robinson and 56 others were indicted last year on weapons stemming from a crackdown on gun trafficking launched by the state Division of Criminal Justice and the State Police.
