Two Charged with Making Phony Bomb Threats at Newark Liberty
One man falsely claimed to be a shoe bomber

Two passengers were arrested in separate incidents at Newark Liberty International Airport Sunday after falsely claiming they were carrying bombs, Nj.com reported.
An Israeli man, Eran Hess, argued with airport officials upon learning there were no more seats on his connecting flight to Miami. Hess told personnel at the fate that a piece of his luggage that had been loaded onto the plane had a bomb in it, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey told Nj.com. Authorities believe Hess made the claim in retaliation for being separated from his luggage.
Later that day a 35-year-old Hoboken man, Thomas Foley III, told airport personnel he had a bomb in his shoe. Authorities had not assigned a motive for Foley’s claim.
Both were charged with creating a false public alarm.
