Unidentified Man Found Dead in Newark Thursday

Authorities Thursday afternoon were still trying to learn the identity of a man found dead in Newark early that morning, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and Newark police said.

The victim, who appears to be in his 30s, was found on the porch of a S. 20th Street home shortly after 2 am and was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been shot, officials said.
