UPDATE: Third Victim Identified in Bergen Street Shooting

A third victim in Monday night's fatal shooting at a Bergen Street convenience store has been located, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement today. Officials also identified the deceased victim as Nyshay Simmons, 21, of Newark.

Simmons and another man were found inside the Super Variety Dollar Plus Store by Newark police around 6:30 pm Monday night. Simmons was pronounced dead at the scene and the other man, whose name was not released, was taken to University Hospital.

A third man whose name was also withheld was shot at the scene and went to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center on his own before police arrived. His wound was non-life-threatening, the prosecutor's office said.
