Utility Work will Affect Some East Ward Streets

Underground Repairs Scheduled to be Completed in Mid-June

PSE&G has announced that it will be performing extensive repair work in the East Ward beginning this week.

The utility is replacing an underground electric transmission circuit connecting the Federal Square substation and the Frontage Road termination facility. Work along the two-mile circuit is expected to be completed in mid-June.

Service will not be affected and no roadways will be closed. The utility said, however, there may be lane closures or detours during the course of the repairs, which will be done round the clock and on weekends during certain phases of the project.

Affected areas are: E. Kinney Street between McWhorter and New Jersey Railroad Avenue; and Adams Street between Chestnut and Oliver streets.
