Authorities Identify Woman Murdered Thursday Morning
19-year-old also shot after being accosted by multiple gunmen, ECPO said
A 20-year-old Newark woman was killed after a group of gunmen opened fire on a crowd early Thursday morning, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and Newark police announced.
Ciarra Lee was shot as she stood with a group of people around 2:17 am along the 40-block of Blum Street. She was pronounced dead at University Hospital about two hours later.
A 19-year-old man was also shot but survived, authorities also said.
