Women's Center at Essex County College Offering Courses

Sessions on writing, domestic violence among offerings

The Women’s Center at Essex County College has scheduled several workshops and seminars this month.  All classes are held at the center on the main Newark campus. Call (973) 877-3395 to register for any Women’s Center program.
                
“Writing Effectively” is a one day seminar set for Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The writing process is broken into 20 steps that help participants get started, figure out what they want to say, and organize their ideas and information. The class is ideal for someone needing to write clear and concise reports and letters. Tuition is $30.

 “Domestic/Relationship Violence Training” is a 12-session course that will teach participants how to identify the basic dynamics of relationship violence, and provide a foundation for understanding healthy relationships and conflict resolution skills. The class will meet Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning March 18, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Total cost is $425.

“How to Secure Your Financial Future” is a one-evening workshop designed to provide information and educate people about the importance of planning and providing for the future of their loved ones. The class will be held March 20 from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuition is $30.

“Excel for Windows Introduction” is a 10-session course covering the basics of this versatile spreadsheet program. Topics include how to construct a spreadsheet, graph data and create macros. The class will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting March 26, from 5:15 to 6:35 p.m. Total cost is $165.

“Entrepreneurship Training Course” is an eight session program providing information on business planning, development, and implementation. The class will meet Tuesdays, starting March 26, from 6 to 9 p.m. Cost of the course is $255.
