26 New Brunswick Students Pass Middlesex County College's Summer Scholars Program

Six students were honored for their respective above average academic performance.

The New Brunswick Summer Scholars Program at Middlesex County College successfully concluded its fourth year in August.

In the program, which is funded by Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick High School and New Brunswick Health Sciences Technology High School, graduates coming to Middlesex take intensive seven-week developmental education courses over the summer. This allows them to start with classes that carry graduation credit in September, increasing their chances for success.

26 students participated in the program this summer, and all of them passed. Six were honored in various categories.

  • Pedro Galindo-Lopez, Highest Academic Average in Writing
  • Banessa Collado, Highest Academic Average in Mathematics.
  • Rebecca Gonzalez, Summer Scholars Spirit Award
  • Jonathan Estanislau, Highest Academic Average in Reading
  • Maria Santiago, Rising Star Award
  • Susana Sarmiento, Overall Highest Academic Honors Award
