New Brunswick Free Public Library Opens Annual Summer Reading Program

Readers of all ages will explore the night this summer as the New Brunswick Free Public Library presents the “Dream Big—READ!” summer reading program.

The program, which is free of charge, kicks off on Saturday, June 16 at 1 p.m., when youth from preschool through 12th grade can sign up for the reading club and summer activities.

The twice-weekly events for children will include Space Robot Race, Stuffed Animal Sleepover, Eyes of the Wild Live Animals, and many more. The teen participants are invited to enjoy making Dream Diaries, creating Night Creature Sock Puppets, or competing in Food Fear Factor: Creepy Crawly Edition, among other night-themed offerings.

The reading clubs include prizes for every five hours read and, for those who meet the program’s reading goal, an invitation to the Summer Reading Fair on August 11 and entry into grand prize drawings. Registration, which begins on June 16, is required for all events.

All programs are free of charge.
