The New Jersey Black Issues Convention (NJBIC) will hold its 30th annual Leadership Conference from Sept. 27 through Sept. 29 at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick.
Scheduled speakers include NJ Assemblywoman Sheila Oliver, Pastor Deforest B. Soaries of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, Bishop Donald Hilliard Jr. of Cathedral International, Molesi Asante of Temple University, Terry Melvin of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, Rev. Charles Atkins, and Antoinette Ellis-Williams of New Jersey City University.
Rev. Jesse Jackson will be honored with the NJBIC lifetime achievement award, according to the organization.

According to the organization, the conference will focus on four key issues - health and human services, education, law and public safety, and economic opportunity and security.
