The Diocese of Metuchen announced on Oct. 13 that Fr. Joseph J. Kerrigan, pastor of Sacred Heart Church on Throop Avenue, has been named a Reverend Monsignor by Pope Benedict XVI.
Kerrigan is one of nine pastors in the Diocese to be given the senior title. He has been pastor of Sacred Heart Church for eight years.
According to a release from the Diocese of Metuchen, all nine priests will be honored at the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi in Metuchen in the coming months.
