Cash for Guns This Weekend in New Brunswick

Middlesex County residents can bring their firearms to a drop-off spot in New Brunswick this weekend and be given a handful of cash for surrendering their guns.
The state's Gun Amnesty Program will be in New Brunswick on Friday and Saturday, a program that pays cash to surrendered firearms.
Between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28, Middlesex County residents can surrender as many as three guns "no questions asked," and receive as much as $250 cash per gun, depending on the condition of the weapon, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
The drop-off location for New Brunswick is Sacred Heart Parish Hall, 115 Commercial Ave.
Additional drop-off spots will also be operating in Sayreville and Perth Amboy.
All collected weapons will be destroyed, according to the Prosecutor's Office.
Nine other gun surrender programs have taken place throughout the state, bringing in a total of 14,114 guns, 1,700 were illegal, according to the Prosecutor's Office.
