Get the Gorilla on Sunday

Runners will don their finest ape apparel on Sunday for the Garden State Track Club's annual "Get the Gorilla 5K" race in Buccleuch Park.

According to the event website, registration begins at 8 a.m., with the race beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The run features a costume contest, a run for kids, a "centipede" contest, and prizes awarded to the top runners and costumes. Additionally, the Garden State Track Club and the Central Park Track Club of New York will face off in a cross-country style race at 10:30 a.m.

Participants can get $5 off their registration fee by donating a pair of gently used running shoes, shorts or shirts to benefit local youth in through the club's Essays for Equipment program.

Registration is $30 the day of the race.
