Largest Networking Party, Soupfest, Cardboard Challenge This Week in New Brunswick

A guide to some of the events scheduled this week in New Brunswick.

1. The Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce's Largest Networking Party returns to New Brunswick tonight!

From 5-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, come to the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick to sample food and wine while meeting dozens of businesses and entrepreneurs ready to swap business cards and make new contacts. Admission is $30 for the general public, $25 for members of the chamber.

2. University of Illinois professor Rachel Havrelock will present "Pipeline: How Oil Created the Modern Middle East and How Water Can Transform It Rutgers University" at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1 at the Rutgers University Student Center, 126 College Ave. Admission is free.

3. Come to Soupfest at the New Brunswick Salvation Army at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1 to meet the new post officers and sample soup from area restaurants while benefiting the local chapter. Tickets are $20.

4. Build your own cardboard creations during the Global Cardboard Challenge at Greater Brunswick Charter School from 8:30-11:30 a.m.. Saturday, Oct. 5. This family event is free to attend.

5. Do you have picky eaters in your family? Come to the New Brunswick Free Public Library at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 for "5 Keys for Happy, Healthy Family Eating," to learn about healthy meals and encouraging kids to enjoy fruit and vegetables.
