Man Fatally Shot In New Brunswick Park Identified

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — The person shot Wednesday night in a New Brunswick park is identified as Fernando Buezo Diaz, 18, of New Brunswick, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said Friday.

Diaz was killed as a result of his gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was shot at approximately 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of Recreation Park on Pine Street, said police.

The suspects fled the area.

This does not appear to be a random act of violence and there does not appear to be a threat to the public.
