Man Hit By Car, Killed Trying To Cross Rt. 9 In Old Bridge

He was hit at 1:25 a.m. Saturday on Rt. 9 south in front of Quality Chevrolet in Old Bridge.

OLD BRIDGE, NJ — A New Brunswick man was hit by a car and killed late Friday night on Rt. 9 in Old Bridge, said Old Bridge Police Chief Thomas Montagna.

Davon Porter, 30, of New Brunswick, was struck at 1:25 a.m. Saturday on Rt. 9 south in front of Quality Chevrolet. Police say his car broke down and became disabled in the left lane of traffic near Quality Chevrolet, and he was attempting to cross Rt. 9 when he was hit.

He was hit by a Honda CR-V, driven by a 30-year-old man from Manalapan.

Porter was pronounced dead at the scene.
