New Brunswick Man Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Distribution Charges
Roberto Arreola-Ramirez has pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree distribution of child pornography and fourth-degree possession of child pornography.

A New Brunswick man has pleaded guilty charges of distributing hundreds of child pornography files over the internet.
Roberto Arreola-Ramirez, 32, of New Brunswick, pleaded guilty on Thursday to charges of second-degree distribution of child pornography and fourth-degree possession of child pornography before Superior Court Judge Bradley J. Ferencz in New Brunswick, according to a press release from the state Office of the Attorney General.
Arreola-Ramirez was arrested on Oct. 17, 2012 after investigators traced his computer through an investigation of a file sharing network where users were sharing child pornography.

By downloading two files from a shared folder on the computer, state police traced the computer to his apartment in New Brunswick, where he was arrested, according to the release.
"A forensic preview of Arreola-Ramirez’s computer revealed hundreds of filed containing images and videos of child pornography," the release said.

The state will recommend that Arreola-Ramirez five years in state prison, and that he register as a sex offender under Megan's Law, according to the press release. He will be sentenced on March 3.
The state Attorney General's office requests that anyone with tips about crimes against children contact the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at their toll-free number, 1-800-843-5678.
