No Arrests Made in Sunday Morning Shooting

A 20-year-old New Brunswick man was shot in the groin on Remsen Avenue Sunday morning.

A 20-year-old New Brunswick man was shot on Remsen Avenue on Sunday morning.

According to Lt. J.T. Miller of New Brunswick Police, police found the 20-year-old Hispanic male victim near the intersection of Remsen Avenue and Handy Street around 2:40 a.m. Sunday morning with a gunshot wound to his groin.

The victim, of New Brunswick reported that he was approaching a friend who was speaking with a group of four Hispanic males, when one fired a shot, wounding him. The four then left the scene.

The victim was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and treated for the injury, which was deemed non-life threatening, Miller said.

The victim and the friend would not disclose to police the nature of the conversation they were having at the time of the shooting, Miller said.
