The 250th anniversary class at Rutgers University gathered at High Point Solutions Stadium on Saturday to meet the new university president, Robert L. Barchi.

According to the university, close to 6,000 students of the class of 2016, clad in red t-shirts, gathered to hear their new president speak, joined by representatives from student groups and university administration.

The event was followed by a barbecue and carnival to welcome the new students.
