Piscataway Couple Stole Jewelry From Senior Living Home Residents: PD
This Piscataway couple is accused of stealing jewelry from a Bridgewater senior living facility where the wife worked as a housekeeper.

PISCATAWAY, NJ — This Piscataway couple is accused of stealing jewelry from a Bridgewater senior living facility where the wife worked as a housekeeper.
Ana Rios, 40, and her husband, Ezequiel Rios, 43, were arrested April 8, said Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald. She was charged with third-degree theft, and conspiracy to commit theft; her husband was charged with third-degree receiving stolen property, and conspiracy.
The married husband and wife live on Orchard Street in Piscataway.

The senior living center was not named.
Police say that between May 2023 and February 2024, the wife stole various items of jewelry from residents while she cleaned their rooms. She turned the stolen jewelry over to her husband, who sold it for cash.

It was residents of the center who first reported their jewelry had been stolen, first in August 2023 and then again in February of this year.
In January 2024, detectives with the Somerset County Prosecutor launched an investigation. Police identified additional victims living at the same senior center who had jewelry stolen, many of which were not reported to the police.
Police say in total they stole and re-sold $45,000 worth of jewelry. He sold the jewelry at various places throughout Somerset County for cash, said police.
Both were released pending a court hearing.
