Piscataway Man Killed In Car Accident On River Road

A 30-year-old Piscataway man was killed in a car collision Monday night, said police in that town.

PISCATAWAY, NJ — A 30-year-old Piscataway man was killed in a car collision Monday night, said police in that town.

At approximately 7:14 p.m., Jesse Chacon was driving north on River Road near the Rutgers SHI football stadium when he lost control of his car, according to a Piscataway Police Dept. investigation. His car spun into the southbound lane and was struck on the driver’s side by a 2015 Lexus 298.

The Piscataway Police 911 call center received an automatic 9-1-1 notification from an Apple iPhone indicating a motor vehicle collision had occurred in the area.

Chacon was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick where he was later pronounced dead. The four occupants of the Lexus all sustained non-life threatening injuries and three of the passengers were transported to the hospital as well for further medical treatment.

“The Piscataway Township Police Department extends its condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Chacon and are hopeful that those injured make a full recovery,” Public Safety Director Keith Stith said.
