Rabid Bat Found In Piscataway Living Room

This is the sixth rabid animal found in Middlesex County so far this year, and the third in Piscataway.

PISCATAWAY, NJ — A bat found in Piscataway tested positive for rabies, Middlesex County announced Wednesday afternoon.

The bat was found Monday in someone's living room in the area of River Road and Barbour Place.

The resident called Animal Control and an officer removed the bat, which came back positive for rabies Wednesday.

The human was not considered exposed to the virus, but their pet cat is, and they were told to consult with their veterinarian.
