Rabid Raccoon Found in Piscataway
The raccoon is the second rabid animal to be found in the area this week.

The Middlesex County Office of Health Services has reported that a rabid raccoon was found in the area of Ludlow Street and Rivercrest Drive in Piscataway, the second animal to test positive for rabies in the area in the last few days.
According to the health services office, the raccoon was picked up by Piscataway Animal Control and sent to the state Department Health lab for testing, where it was determined to be carrying the rabies virus.
Rabies information is being distributed in the area where the raccoon was found, according to the health services office.

The raccoon is the eighth animal with rabies found in Middlesex County this year.
On Wednesday, it was reported that a was found in New Brunswick, in the vicinity of Lafayette Street and College Avenue.
