Repainted Mural Brightens City Corner

Editor's note: This article previously stated that the mural was originally painted in the 1980's. It has been changed to reflect that the mural was painted between 2002-2003 as a community art project.

A freshly-painted mural bearing the faces of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Coretta Scott King, and New Brunswick residents looks out from the corner of Sandford Street and Joyce Kilmer Avenue.

New Brunswick resident James Neal led the repainting and expansion of the mural, according to a report on mycentraljersey.com.

It was originally painted between 2002-2003 by a number of community residents.
