Chinese New Year begins Jan. 29, and is the most important holiday on the Chinese lunar calendar. Some of the typical traditions include families gather together for dinner, eating dishes that symbolize good fortune and health; children wear new clothes and receive red envelopes with money that will bring them good luck for the upcoming New Year and finally, everyone cleans up their clutter to "remove the old and welcome the new."

This program is made possible by the Friends of the New Brunswick Free Public Library and Asian Food Market.
