Rutgers Student In Critical Condition After Serious Injury At Private Home

A Rutgers student was seriously injured Tuesday night at a private home in New Brunswick, said the county prosecutor.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Rutgers student was seriously injured Tuesday night at a private home in New Brunswick, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Rutgers Police Chief Kenneth Cop announced Friday.

The student, a 19-year-old man, is currently hospitalized at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

At approximately 12:26 a.m. Wednesday, Rutgers Police received a 911 call, which the caller then disconnected. Upon their arrival, officers located a 19-year-old Rutgers student who had been injured and was unresponsive.

He was rushed to the hospital.

The school and the prosecutor did not immediately release any additional information about how the student was injured.

A Rutgers spokeswoman said Friday evening:

"An incident involving the serious injury of a Rutgers-New Brunswick student is under investigation by the Middlesex County Prosecutors Office. At this time, all inquiries should be directed to the Middlesex County Prosecutors Office."
