Tony Award Winner Tonya Pinkins to Perform Free

Tonya Pinkins to perform in a free event on March 10 at Mason Gross

Tony Award-winning theater artist Tonya Pinkins (Jelly's Last Jam, Caroline, Or Change) is set to appear 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at the Mason Gross School of the Arts. 

Tonya Pinkins: An Evening of Song and Conversation, will take place at the Philip J. Levin Theater, 85 George St. at Route 18, on the Douglass Campus of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. The event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required.

Pinkins' appearance is part of Mason Gross Presents, a year-round event series produced by special funding from the Mason Gross School of the Arts and Rutgers. The series combines the educational and community-outreach missions of the conservatory through special performances in theater, music and dance, along with visual arts exhibitions and other arts programming that enhance the educational experience of students while also bringing quality programs to the community.

Participants have included Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, Trisha Brown Dance Company, David Parsons, Brice Marden, Elizabeth Murray, Martin Puryear, Peter Schjeldahl, Bob Becker, Rossen Milanov, Andrea Quinn, F. Murray Abraham, Moisés Kaufman and Judith Ivey.
