Veterans Day Events in New Brunswick
Veterans Day events are scheduled in and around New Brunswick Friday through Tuesday.

On Monday, Nov. 11, communities around the United States will take some time to reflect on the sacrifices made by our veterans and servicemen and women. New Brunswick will be among them. Here are some events scheduled this weekend for Veterans Day:
- Rutgers University will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony and barbecue from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8. At 11 a.m., a wreath will be laid at the WWII monument on Voorhees Mall, followed by a noon ceremony in nearby Kirkpatrick Chapel. A barbecue will follow on the lawn of the chapel, according to a press release from the college. All events are open to the public.
- The annual Veterans Day parade in New Brunswick will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. It will begin at 11 a.m. at the doughboy statute in Highland Park, located at the fork of Raritan Avenue and Woodbridge Avenue. The parade will head into New Brunswick via Albany Street, turn left on George Street and end at Monument Square at Livingston Avenue. A ceremony will follow, according to the city.
- Middlesex County College will observe Veterans Day at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 with a program featuring speakers George Lisicki, former national commander of the VFW and Mike Miller, Army veteran and motivational speaker. A free screening of the movie "Restrepo" will follow at 12:15 p.m. The event will be held in the main lounge of the campus college center. Middlesex County College is located at 2600 Woodbridge Ave., Edison.
