Woman Attacks Cop, Firefighter With Knife During Crisis Call In New Brunswick
The Middlesex County Special Operations Team was called to assist, authorities said.
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – A woman attempted to stab a police officer and firefighter during a crisis call on Thursday in New Brunswick, authorities said.
On Thursday around 12:30 p.m., New Brunswick Police were called to Harvey Street for a welfare check on a resident in crisis. When police arrived, the resident was uncooperative and attempted to stab a New Brunswick Police Officer and a firefighter, authorities said.
The woman then barricaded herself in the house. The Middlesex County Special Operations Team was called out to assist.

After de-escalation, the woman came out of the house and was taken into custody and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
The incident is under investigation.
