5 Arrested in Bergen County Drug Bust
An alleged distributor was arrested along with his father, his supplier and two customers.
Five individuals were arrested in Bergen County as the result of a drug bust.
Benjamin Cody Meyer, 19, of Upper Saddle River, was arrested along with his father, Louis Meyer, 52, after a three month investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force and the Upper Saddle River Police Department revealed Benjamin was allegedly distributing narcotics, including LSD and marijuana, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.
Authorities executed a court authorized search warrant at the Meyer residence on Jan. 10 and “seized approximately 100 hits of suspected LSD, approximately 2 ounces of suspected Marijuana, approximately 1/2 ounce of suspected Psilocybin Mushrooms and drug paraphernalia, including scales and packaging materials,” Molinelli said. Police also seized suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia from Louis Meyer’s private bathroom.

The estimated street value of the controlled dangerous substances seized is approximately $2,000.
But prior to the execution of search warrant, surveillance personnel observed two individuals suspected of purchasing controlled dangerous substances from Benjamin at his residence and pulled them over when they left the residence. Richard Brooke, 21, of Allendale, and Maxwell Heard, 20, also of Allendale, were found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and under the influence of marijuana, Molinelli said. Brooke and Heard were arrested without incident.

Also arrested on the same date was one of Benjamin’s suppliers, a juvenile from Spring Valley, New York. At the time of his arrest, the juvenile was found to be in possession of approximately two pounds of suspected marijuana, an estimated street value of $6,000, according to Molinelli.
Benjamin Meyer was charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute LSD, a first degree crime; one count of possession with intent to distribute psilocybin mushrooms, a third degree crime; and one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, a third degree crime. Bail was set at $100,000 with no ten percent cash option. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
Louis Meyer was charged with one count of possession of marijuana (less than 50 grams), a disorderly person’s offense; and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, a disorderly person’s offense. He was released on a summons pending a first date court appearance on Jan. 13.

The juvenile was charged by juvenile complaint with one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, a third degree crime, and was released to the custody of their parents.
