'Calming' Nature Of Vet Recognized: Best Of 2025 Nomination

New Milford, Connecticut — Every community has its bright spots — the neighbors, businesses and local favorites that make it feel like home. As 2025 comes to a close, Patch and T-Mobile are recognizing the people, places and moments that made this year brighter in New Milford through our Best of 2025 series.

How did this person, place or experience make a difference in your life or community this year?

My past vet was extremely awkward around my kitten, she did not wish to look at her due to her being a bit spicy, but because of that her pee continued to be bloody for far longer than it should have. Dr. Markette not only handled my kitten extremely well but had such a calming affect on her that merely draping a towel over her head made her calm instantly and allowed her to be examined, rather than the force my prior vet used to handle her.

What would you like everyone in town to know about your nominee?

The staff are wonderful, from front of house to back of house everyone is extremely kind and thoughtful, the doctors are extremely professional and kind. If you ever need a vet to help you with breeding services, an exotic pet, or any problems with your dog or cat, MTP and PPPC are the places to go.

If you could tell them one thing, what would it be?

Thank you MTP for the love and care placed for my cats!!

What’s something you love most about your town or community?

Everyone understands the love we have for our pets, and I have seen so many in financial hardships or have lost their pet and just seen the entire community come together to help them.
