5 Things to Do In and Around New Milford This Weekend
After last week's unexpected storm, why not do something fun?
Having survived the wrath of last week's unexpected storm, you deserve to get out and have some fun. Here are 5 fun things to do this weekend:
- What: Crepe Day at New Milford High School
- When: Sat. Oct. 5 11am-4pm
- Where: New Milford HS, 1 Snyder Circle
- Why: Support the French Club
- Cost: $10 in advance by emailing Serge Nadeau at snadeau@newmilfordschools.org until 9 am Saturday morning. $12 at door.
- What: PIP “Peanut Leap Cascade” History Hike
- When: Sat. 1pm
- Where: Meet 1 pm at at State Line Lookout (northbound PIP opposite Exit 3)
- Why: Discover hidden waterfalls and the beautiful ruins of an Italianate garden with historical interpreter Eric Nelsen.
- Cost: Free

- What: 39th Annual Harvest Fair at Old Paramus Reformed Church
- When: Sat. 10am-4pm
- Where: Old Paramus Reformed Church, 660 E. Glen Ave., at 17 North
- Why: Holiday shopping, garage sale, treasures, food & more
- Cost: Free admission
- What: The Historic Maywood Station’s Open House
- When: Sun. 12noon-3pm.
- Where: Historic Maywood Train Station, 269 Maywood Avenue
- Why: Visit a restored 1872 train station and see model trains on display
- Cost: Free admission

- What: “Short Stories for Long Nights” at Historic Kearney House
- When: Sun. 4:30pm-5:30pm
- Where: Kearney House at Alpine Boat Basin & Picnic Area (PIP Exit 2)
- Why: This is a sell-out event every time it's held. Kids love it! Take a trip back into the 19th Century in an authentic tavern house at the base of the Hudson River. Hot chocolate and cookies for all.
